This is Bugsy’s Dog Run at Astoria Park. Its not an official dog run, as it is not funded or maintained by the city. It was created by a man named Tex who lives across the street, and named after his now deceased dog, Bugsy. He and his wife maintain the run by bringing water and bags daily. While this dog run is quite run down, its the only one in Astoria and many people come out and make the best of it.
Small OFF leash, fully enclosed dog run located at woodside avenue and 54th street. Bordering Sunnyside & Woodside.
Located at 65th and Queens Boulevard. The dog run was just updated by the city and is looking better than ever! This is a very friendly community dog run, with tables and benches for you to hang out on while your dogs are playing. It now has a Drinking fountain for the dogs.
Park Lane South right off Woodhaven Boulevard. This is a nice large dog run with 2 seperate spaces, for large and small dogs. There is an obstacle course and plenty of space for dogs to run around. One of my favorites!
Vernon Boulevard Dog Run
10,000 square feet, a new dog-friendly gravel surface, separate large and small dog areas, drinking fountains for pets. Located at 48th Ave/ Vernon Blvd.
Lou Lodati park on Skillman avenue was recently approved for a new dog run. With a $700k budget, this should be a great addition to the neighborhood – ETA – 2013
Little Bay Park Dog Run
Cross Island Pkwy (Utopia Parkway), Located in Whitestone this dog run is on the water, parking available nearby.
Rego Park Dog Run – located at 64th ave and Grand Central. There are 2 separate gated areas, a large and a small. This is a nice community dog run, safe and well shaded in the summer. Right off the grand central at 64th ave, well hidden unless you know its there!
My favorite dog run! Located at Avenue A and 9th street. This dog run has 2 sections for small and large dogs. There is a swimming pool in the summer for the dogs to cool off in.
About 40 minutes from Queens, this dog beach is worth the trip! It is an all day, off leash dog beach without restrictions, and the only one I found in all of NYC. Check the tides before driving out, when they are high there is no beach! After 10am is usually fine.
